A heat scale is only useful if the steps are built the same way each time. We keep the base recipe fixed so the chili ratio is the only real variable a buyer is tasting.

Five reasons cooks keep a full ladder on hand
Defined Heat Steps
Each bottle states a Scoville range rather than a vague hotness claim.
Consistent Base Recipe
Only the chili ratio changes between steps; the rest of the formula stays fixed.
Bottled to Order
Sauce is filled after your order, not pulled from long-standing warehouse stock.
Four-Ingredient Core
Chili, vinegar, sea salt and aromatics only, no filler bases.
Documented Composition
The specification table lists approximate proportions by weight for each component.
How each heat step is built
Pepper Sourcing
Fresh and dried chilies are selected per heat step to hit a target Scoville range.
Mash Preparation
Chili, garlic and ginger are ground together with sea salt into a base mash.
Vinegar Integration
Vinegar is blended in to balance acidity and set the final texture.
Order-Based Bottling
Each bottle is filled after the order is placed, then sealed and labeled with its heat step.

What people who bought the set say
"Went through all five steps over two weeks of dinners. Step three ended up being my regular bottle, and having the labeled range made it easy to explain to guests what they were getting into."
Marcus T.
Customer
"The garlic and ginger really come through on the lower steps. Step five is genuinely sharp, use it sparingly on eggs."
Priya S.
Customer
"Appreciated that the recipe stayed consistent across bottles. Made it easy to compare rather than feeling like five random sauces in one box."

Common questions about the Heat Ladder set
How is the heat measured between bottles? +
Each bottle states its target Scoville Heat Unit range on the label. We calibrate by adjusting the ratio of fresh to dried chili and by pepper variety, not by adding extract.
Does the recipe change between the five bottles? +
The base ingredients stay the same: chili, vinegar, sea salt, garlic and ginger. Only the pepper mix and its proportion change to move up the heat step.
Can I buy just one heat step instead of the full set? +
This listing is sold as the complete five-bottle set. Single steps are not split from this collection.
How should the set be stored? +
Keep bottles upright in a cool, dark place before opening. After opening, refrigerate and use within the window noted on the cap.
